Canned goods: is it just food or a necessity?

A lot of things we hardly used before got much more importance during the war.

When our foundation team forms social sets, we always make sure to put some canned meat or fish there. Why? Olga Shelest, the foundation Director, tells more in the video.

Here are a couple of reasons why canned food is neccessary and convenient:

* canned food can be consumed anywhere: in a bomb shelter, temporary accomodation, rented appartment;
* it is a kind of nutritious "currency", which can be a reasonable alternative to freshly cooked meals;
* it is ready to eat without additional efforts;
* cans are easy to put inside a go-bag to always have some food reserve.

That's why yes, we can safely say that canned meat and fish are necessary "currency" for the displaced families and foster homes, where usually about 10 children reside. Such goods give them some confidence in having enough quality, nutritious food under any circumstances.

And to give them such "currency", we need another one: hryvnias, dollars, euros. Each day we research opportunities to fund the requests we get. We also wrote about it in our previous post.
